The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Svātmaprakāśikā

Verse 11

In plain words

The water shimmering in a desert never becomes anything other than the desert. In the same way, when the world is deeply examined, all of it is found to be Consciousness alone.

Close to the Sanskrit

All the water seen in a desert is only the desert itself. Likewise, upon careful inquiry, this entire threefold world is nothing but Consciousness.
