The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Svātmaprakāśikā

Verse 25

पुण्यानि पापकर्माणि स्वप्नगानि न जाग्रति ।एवं जाग्रत्पुण्यपापकर्माणि न हि मे प्रभोः ॥ २२ ॥

In plain words

The merit you earned in a dream, the wrong you did in a dream — none of it is there when you wake. In exactly the same way, the good deeds and the bad deeds of waking life are not mine at all: I am the Lord.

Close to the Sanskrit

Meritorious deeds and sinful deeds that occur within a dream are not there in the waking state; in the same way, the meritorious and sinful deeds of the waking state are indeed not mine, the Lord's.
