In plain words
The knower and the knowing — that is the whole pair. Both are reflections of Consciousness, so both exist for its sake and not their own. And since neither of them is conscious, the fruit of knowing is imagined to rest in Consciousness.
Close to the Sanskrit
The cognizer and the cognition indeed, being the two reflections of which [Consciousness], have their being-for-the-sake-of That; and because those two are not possessed of consciousness, the fruit is imagined in Consciousness.
