In plain words

The knower's knowing is eternal — that has been said. In deep sleep nothing is known only because nothing other is there to know. Waking knowing, though, comes from avidyā; so let what it grasps be taken as unreal.

Close to the Sanskrit

The knowing of the knower has indeed been declared eternal; but in deep sleep, because of the absence of anything other. Waking-knowing, however, is from nescience; and that which is to be grasped by it — let it be accepted as unreal.
