The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Vākyavṛttiḥ

Verse 21

In plain words

No change has ever touched it, and still — exactly as a magnet moves iron without stirring — it sets the intellect and all the rest in motion. That one, turned inward: I am that. Hold it firmly.

Close to the Sanskrit

He who, being one by whom no modification has been undergone, exactly like a magnet, sets the intellect and the rest in motion — that inward one, 'I am that' — ascertain thus.
