यस्मादाक्रामतो द्यां गरुडमणिशिलाकेतुदण्डायमाना-दाश्च्योतन्ती बभासे सुरसरिदमला वैजयन्तीव कान्ता ।भूमिष्ठो यस्तथान्यो भुवनगृहबृहत्स्तम्भशोभां दधौ नःपातामेतौ पयोजोदरललिततलौ पङ्कजाक्षस्य पादौ ॥

One foot rose and stepped on heaven, standing straight and rigid, a flagstaff cut from a single slab of emerald — and along it the stainless river of the gods came trickling down and shone there, lovely as a Vaijayantī banner on its pole. The other stayed on the ground and wore the beauty of the great pillar that holds up the house of the world. Two feet, their soles as delicate as the inside of a lotus, belonging to the lotus-eyed one. May they protect us.
