In plain words

"The transcendent yet modified Self is this very jīva," says the scripture. The Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad states: "This very entity has entered here," and "Let a man meditate upon Him as the Self alone." Further: "This Brahman is without prior and without posterior," "There is no other seer than this, there is no other knower than this," and "He is the great, unborn Self consisting of pure consciousness." Also: "Whoever worships another deity...", "All this has its essence in Him," and "Know Me also as the knower of the field."

Close to the Sanskrit

"The transcendent modified indeed is the Self, this own self is the jīva," according to the śruti. "This one has entered here," is the Bṛhadāraṇyaka śruti. "One should meditate as the Self alone." "That this Brahman is without prior," and so forth. "There is no other seer than this, there is no other knower than this," and so forth. "He indeed is this great unborn Self, which this consciousness-consisting one is," and so forth. Now, "Whoever worships another deity..." "All this has its self in that." "And know me also as the field-knower."
