The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Viṣṇusahasranāmastotram

Verse 137

ऋषयस्तु परिश्रान्ता वाह्यमाना दुरात्मना ।देवर्षयो महाभागास्तथा ब्रह्मर्षयोऽमलाः ॥

In plain words

And the seers were worn out to the last of their strength, harnessed and driven forward by that evil-natured man — the deva-ṛṣis, blessed beyond measure, and the brahma-ṛṣis too, without a stain on them.

Close to the Sanskrit

The seers, however, being utterly exhausted, being driven along by the evil-natured one — the divine seers, greatly blessed, and likewise the seers of brahman, spotless.
