विक्रमशालित्वात् वीरः ।शक्तिमतां विरिञ्च्यादीनामपि शक्तिमत्त्वात् शक्तिमतां श्रेष्ठः ।सर्वभूतानां धारणात् धर्मः; 'अणुरेष धर्मः' इति श्रुतेः; धर्मैराराध्यत इति वा धर्मः ।श्रुतयः स्मृतयश्च यस्याज्ञाभूताः स एव सर्वधर्मविदामुत्तमः इति धर्मविदुत्तमः ॥

Because of his supreme valor, he is Vīra, the hero. Because his power surpasses even that of Brahmā and other deities, he is the foremost among the powerful. Because he sustains all beings, he is Dharma, as the scripture states: 'This dharma is subtle'; or because he is propitiated through righteous practices, he is Dharma. He whose very commands constitute the Śrutis and Smṛtis is the absolute best among all who understand righteousness, and is thus named Dharmaviduttama.
