Or else Bhūtamaheśvara, the great lord of beings. Ādi is He into whom all creatures are resolved. Ādideva is the primordial, shining source. Mahādeva is so named because, having renounced all worldly attachments, He shines in the supreme majesty of Self-knowledge and divine power. Deveśa is the pre-eminent ruler of the celestials. Devabhṛt is the sustainer of the gods, and Devabhṛdguru is the preceptor even of Indra—or one who nurtures the deities and embodies all sacred wisdom.
