Śrī Vaishampayana addressed Janamejaya: Having listened thoroughly to all the sacred dharmas that lead to both worldly prosperity and liberation, which purify the mind, wash away sins, and reveal esoteric spiritual truths, Yudhishthira—the righteous son of Dharma—realized that the supreme means to fulfill all human aspirations, easily accomplished with minimal effort yet bearing boundless fruit, had not yet been fully explained. Thus reflecting, he questioned Bhishma, the son of Shantanu, once again. Yudhishthira said—
