In plain words

By mistaking itself for the intellect, the Self takes on a false boundary that was never really its own. Though it is the very Self of everything, it ends up seeing itself as something apart — the way pots seem separate from the clay they are made of.

Close to the Sanskrit

Having itself assumed limitation through the error of identifying with the intellect, entirely falsely, the Self, though the Self of all, sees itself as separate from itself, like pots from clay.
