Dullness is overcome by passion and clarity together; passion is overcome by clarity; and even clarity itself finally gives way before something purer still. So take your stand on clarity, and use it to remove your own superimposition.
Close to the Sanskrit
Tamas [is destroyed] by the two [rajas and sattva]; rajas, by sattva; sattva is destroyed by the pure [state beyond it]. Therefore, resorting to sattva, accomplish the removal of your own superimposition.
