In plain words
Gold goes into the crucible dull and mixed, and comes out shining, simply its own true self again once the dross has burned off. The mind works the same way: let meditation burn off the mix of sattva, rajas, and tamas that dulls it, and what remains is nothing added — just the Truth it was always made of.
Close to the Sanskrit
As gold, purified by fire in the crucible, having shed its dross, fully recovers its own true quality, so the mind, having through meditation completely let go of the impurity of sattva, rajas, and tamas, arrives fully at the Truth.
