A wave, foam, an eddy, a bubble — pull back the name and there was only ever water. It's the same with everything you call yourself, from the body all the way to the sense of 'I' — pull back the name and there was only ever Consciousness. One seamless, undivided essence, and nothing about it is stained.
Close to the Sanskrit
As wave, foam, whirlpool, bubble, and the like are all, in their true nature, water, so too, all this — from the body up to the 'I' — is Consciousness alone; it is Consciousness alone, of one homogeneous essence, utterly pure.
