In plain words
Only someone free from the great noose of craving for sense-objects — a noose brutally hard to shake off — is fit for liberation. No one else qualifies, not even a scholar who has mastered all six systems of philosophy.
Close to the Sanskrit
He who is freed from the great noose of desire for sense-objects, very hard to abandon — he alone is fit for liberation, no other, even a knower of the six śāstras.
