In plain words

Your nose-ring — a pearl taken from the brow of a lordly elephant — quivers in the breeze and turns wondrous. Your eyes are bees gone drunk, circling and circling the clean fragrance of your lotus face. Your flawless cheeks are crowded with the flash and swing of jewelled earrings. Victory to you, Yamunā, victory — you who ward off fear, you who break open every tight place: make me clean.

Close to the Sanskrit

O you whose trembling nose-ornament — a pearl from the best of elephants — is made wondrous by the breeze; O you whose eyes are intoxicated bees, restless with the stainless fragrance of your lotus-face; O you whose spotless pair of cheeks is thronged by the flashing, swinging, many-gemmed earrings — victory to you, O Yamunā, victory, O remover of fear, O destroyer of distress: purify me.
