The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Yatipañcakam

Verse 1

In plain words

They live inside the words of Vedānta and never tire of them. Begged food, and only that, is enough. No sorrow in them; the mind set on one thing alone. A strip of cloth at the waist and nothing else — these are the fortunate ones.

Close to the Sanskrit

Ever delighting in the sentences of Vedānta, and content with mere alms-food, free of sorrow, having their instrument fixed on the One — those possessing a loincloth are indeed the possessors of good fortune.
