In plain words
The root of a tree is shelter enough. Two cupped hands are bowl enough — they send for no plate and no servant. Wealth itself they hold in contempt, like a rag stitched out of scraps. The ones in the loincloth — they are the lucky ones.
Close to the Sanskrit
Resorting only to the root of a tree, calling upon the pair of hands in order to eat, scorning even wealth as though it were a patched rag — the wearers of the loincloth are indeed the fortunate ones.
