In plain words
What is directly seen and known is Knowledge; holding in mind what has merely been heard is meditative practice. What is heard may be forgotten, but what is truly seen is not so easily lost. The object of direct knowledge is real; the object constructed in meditation is imagined. Knowledge, on arising, destroys ignorance—it is not a karma.
