To discern with certainty the eternal from the transient is viveka. To be free of longing for enjoyments here or hereafter is dispassion. The sixfold treasure beginning with inner quietude is the third; an ardent longing for liberation is the fourth. These, the wise declare, are the four qualifications for the path of Truth.
