A fire that is smothered cannot burn even a little fuel. In the same way, Knowledge obscured by these impediments cannot consume the ancient bonds. Therefore persevere in śravaṇa, manana and nididhyāsana until ignorance, doubt and contrary identification are thoroughly removed.
