। ॥
In plain words
O Kāmākṣī, proud of its darkness, your sidelong glance is always quarrelling with the masses of dark clouds. Strange, then, that it is on seeing your glance, not the clouds, that Nīlakaṇṭha rejoices full of longing, as the peacock does at the sight of rain clouds.
Word for word
With dark-cloud-masses quarrels your, Kāmākṣī, with darkness-pride always the glance; strange even so intensely it itself seeing, longing-full indeed rejoices surely Nīlakaṇṭha.
