In plain words

O Kāmākṣī, the good always declare the spreading blossom of your gentle smile to be moonlight, and its mark of purity is plain to see. Yet it does not shake off our great heat or dispel the darkness within. So we are sorrowful, and we do not know why this should be.

Word for word

Your gentle-smile-blossom spreading, Kāmākṣī, moonlight the good always declare; purity its mark is seen; our not shakes off heat great, dispels not inner darkness; therefore indeed sorrowful we, this why thus not we know.
