Question and answer 33
In plain words
Disciple: One who gives up the happiness of liberation while living and goes after enjoyment: will he not forgo liberation after the body falls, wish for Vaikuṇṭha and the other worlds, and go to them?
Guru: Both the giving up of that happiness and the desire for enjoyment come to the jñānī from prārabdha. Ignorance, once burnt by knowledge, leaves no remnant, and nothing of it arises again. His prāṇa does not go out, so no connection with another body, in this world or another, arises for him, not even through prārabdha. So giving up liberation after the body, wishing for another world, and reaching another world have no place for the jñānī.
Word for word
Disciple: One who, giving up the happiness of liberation while living, engages in enjoyment, forgoing liberation after the body, desiring Vaikuṇṭha and other worlds, will he not reach them?
Guru: Because the giving up of the happiness of liberation while living and the desire for enjoyment arise for the jñānī from prārabdha, because there is no remnant of ignorance burnt by knowledge nor its arising afterwards, and because, his prāṇa not going out, connection with another body in this world or another world does not arise even by prārabdha, the giving up of that liberation after the body, the desire for another world and the reaching of another world do not fit the jñānī.
