In plain words
So, in this way, of Him who is greatly all-pervading: We praise Mṛḍa, whose circuit is not found even by wandering minds, whose end is hard to reach even by those who go far. That ‘Mṛḍa’, that is, the Great Lord made of supreme ānanda, ‘we praise’, that is, we enter in samāveśa. Of what kind? He whose ‘circuit’, that is, the expanse of His breadth, ‘is not found even by wandering minds’, that is, even by those who search for a long time through the height of the yoga of contemplating the supreme greatness. Likewise ‘even by those who go far’, that is, even by those who travel, by the order of contemplation, an exceedingly distant road, His ‘end’, that is, the close of His length, and the edges before and after made by time, are not found, since, being formless, He has no joining with space and time. For this very reason those given to searching for the Lord as having a form are called ‘wandering minds’. Moreover, at the time of dissolution, in the midst of the waters, though He had a form, the form of a flame made to shine by His own will, His measure was not found by Brahmā, Viṣṇu and the rest, who searched with minds astray through not considering His true greatness: so the Purāṇic sense too is touched on by this. And further: even the ‘bhrama’ that belongs to Him, the delusion whose nature is the great māyā, ‘is not found’, that is, is not measured. For all of them, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Rudra and the rest, are deluded by māyā; for that very reason it is said ‘by wandering minds’. Where even this power of māyā of His is not found, that is, not measured, how could He be measured there? ‘Even by those who go far’, that is, even by Anāśrita and the rest, who have mounted the stream of the six paths, His ‘end’, that is, His limit, is ‘hard to reach’: it is not found at all.
