In plain words

And therefore: May the lamp of devotion to You, O Lord, which has carried off the swollen weariness of darkness and burnt up all the fuel of becoming, be for me a lamp of Your awareness. O Lord, devotion to You, since it makes things shine, is itself the flame of a lamp: let it be the ‘lamp’, that is, let it be what makes manifest, ‘of Your awareness’, that is, of Your great prakāśa. What kind is it? One by which the ‘swollen weariness of darkness’, that is, the torment of non-recognition, has been ‘carried off’; and so too, one by which ‘all the fuel of becoming’, that is, the wood of saṃsāra, has been ‘burnt up’, that is, consumed. The flame of a lamp, whose weariness of darkness is the lampblack it makes, and which has not burnt up the whole wick, makes a pot and such things shine; so this lamp of Your awareness is unlike it: that is the figure of contrast.
