In plain words

He divided himself in three: the sun as a third and the wind as a third. This breath is thus set out in three. Its head is the eastern quarter, and these two, this and that, are its forequarters. Its tail is the western quarter, and these two, this and that, are its hindquarters. The south and the north are its flanks. The sky is its back, the middle region its belly, this earth its breast. It rests upon the waters; and wherever a man goes who knows this, there he rests.
