आशाप्रतीक्षे सङ्गतꣳ सूनृतां चेष्टापूर्तं पुत्रपशूꣳश्च सर्वान् ।एतद्वृङ्क्ते पुरुषस्याल्पमेधसो यस्यानश्नन्वसति ब्राह्मणो गृहे ॥ ८ ॥
In plain words
'Hope, and expectation, and fellowship, and gracious speech, and the merit of sacrifice and of charitable works, and sons and cattle -- all of it -- this tears away from a man of little understanding, in whose house a Brāhmaṇa dwells without eating.'
