In plain words
Now the winning of a god's love. If a man wishes to be dear to someone, or someone to be dear to him, then at a change of the moon let him lay the fire and, with the same procedure, offer these oblations of clarified butter: "I offer thy speech in myself, So-and-so, svāhā. I offer thy eye in myself, So-and-so, svāhā. I offer thy ear in myself, So-and-so, svāhā. I offer thy mind in myself, So-and-so, svāhā. I offer thy wisdom in myself, So-and-so, svāhā." Then, having breathed in the smell of the smoke and rubbed his limbs with the smear of the butter, let him go in silence and seek to touch that person, or let him stand speaking to him from windward. He becomes dear indeed, and they think of him.
