In plain words
And it is said elsewhere too: This is the sounding body of it, which is Om. It has gender, as feminine, masculine and neuter. It has brightness, as fire, wind and the sun. It has lordship, as Rudra and Viṣṇu. It has mouths, as the householder's fire, the southern fire and the offering fire. It has knowledge, as the Ṛc, the Yajus and the Sāman. It has worlds, as bhūḥ, bhuvaḥ and svaḥ. It has time, as what has been, what is and what shall be. It has heat, as the breath, fire and the sun. It has increase, as food, the waters and the moon. It has consciousness, as intellect, mind and the sense of I. It has breath, as the out-breath, the down-breath and the diffused breath. So it is said: "This, Satyakāma, is both the higher and the lower Brahman — that which is the syllable Om."
