In plain words
And it is said elsewhere too: There is an upward channel called Suṣumṇā by which the breath travels; it is divided within the palate. By it, when the breath is joined to Om and to the mind, let him go upward. Turning the tip of the tongue back upon the palate and gathering in the senses, let the great one look upon greatness. Thereupon he goes to selflessness; and being selfless he has no share in pleasure and pain, but attains aloneness. So it is said: "Having first made the breath steady and held it in check, then, having crossed to the far shore by that which has no shore, let him afterwards yoke it in the head."
