In plain words

I came to you thinking you had a shape. So you took one: a hill, standing on the ground. And if somebody decides instead that you have no shape at all — he is the man walking the whole world over trying to get a look at the sky. Think about your form until the thinking itself runs out. Then the form runs out too, the way a lump of sugar loses its shape in the sea. And when I finally know myself — what other shape were you ever wearing but mine? You who have simply stayed here, the great hill of Aruna.

Word for word

When I, having thought of you as form, approached, you yourself took the standing that is called a hill upon the earth. If one thinks that your form is formless, he is like a man who roams the world so as to get a sight of the sky. When one thinks upon your form until the thinking ceases, the form ceases, like the form of sugar placed in the sea. When I come to know myself, what other form than mine did you have, O you who have remained as the great Aruna hill?
