Going down after the questioner

In plain words

Take away the thought that says I, and there is not one other thought left. While it is there the others keep coming up. So ask: coming up to whom? To me. Good. Then where does that me come up from? Go down after it. Sink in. And if you get all the way to the seat at the centre of the heart — you are a king with a single white parasol over you and nobody to dispute it. Inside, outside; merit and sin; dying and being born; pleasure and pain; dark and light. Not one of them. A dream, all of it. Dancing without moving, in the hall of the heart. Shoreless sea of the light of grace, called the hill of Aruna.

Word for word

If the thought called ‘I’ is absent, not a single other is. So long as that lasts, if other thoughts rise — to whom? To me. Asking which is the one place of the rising of ‘I’, having sunk inward, if one reaches the throne of the heart, O king of a single parasol's shade! Inside and outside are not, nor the two actions, nor death, birth, joy, sorrow, darkness, light — all these are called a dream. Dancing as the Motionless in the stirring hall of the heart, O shoreless sea of the light of grace that is called the Aruna hill!
