In plain words

I have seen something strange. This mountain is a magnet, and what it pulls is lives. A living thing turns its mind on it once. That is all. The restlessness stops. It gets drawn round to face one way, the magnet's way. It is made motionless, exactly like the magnet. And then the magnet eats it. What is this thing? Turn your minds on it, all of you, and be saved. This killer of lives, shining in the heart. The great hill of Aruna.

Word for word

I have seen a wonder: this magnet mountain of the force that pulls lives. Having once made the restless movement of the life that attends to it subside, having drawn it so as to face its one self, having made it motionless like itself, it takes that dear life as sacrifice. What is this? Attend to it and be saved, O living beings — this life-killer that shines in the heart, the great Aruna hill!
