Verse 32

மதுநீயென் றம்மறைக ளார்த்திடவுந் தன்னையெதுவென்று தான்றேர்ந் திராஅ ததுநானிதுவன்றென் றெண்ணலுர னின்மையினா லென்றுமதுவேதா னாயமர்வ தாலே யதுவுமலா

அது நீ என்று அம் மறைகள் ஆர்த்திடவும் தன்னை எது என்று தான் தேர்ந்து இராஅது அது நான் இது அன்று என்று எண்ணல் உரன் இன்மையினால் என்றும் அதுவே தானாய் அமர்வதாலே அதுவும் அலா

In plain words

The scriptures say it at the top of their voice: That thou art. It has been said to you a thousand times. And still you go about thinking 'I am That, I am not this' — which is not realisation, it is a sentence you are holding on to. Bhagavan's diagnosis is not that you are wrong. It is that you are not strong enough yet to simply be it, so you keep saying it instead. The cure is not a firmer conviction. It is sitting down in it.

Though the scriptures proclaim aloud 'That thou art', without oneself discerning what oneself is and abiding as That, to think 'That am I, this I am not' is for want of strength — since it is by abiding always as That itself that one is That. That too, other than —
