In plain words
My very nature is overcome by weakness; my mind is confused about dharma. I ask you: tell me decisively what is truly for my good. I am your disciple; instruct me, for I take refuge in you.
Word for word
[With] my nature struck down by the fault of wretchedness, my mind bewildered about dharma, I ask you: what would be the certain good, tell that to me; I am your disciple; instruct me, who have taken refuge in you.

▸Gītā Vāhini· The Vṛtti of Śaraṇāgati

"Brother-in-law! This kṣatriya blood and your sharp words are pushing me forward; yet my heart, in dread of the sin of killing those I revere, holds back. I cannot see which way to turn, what I should do. Just as you are driving this chariot, so regard me too as a chariot: enter into me and drive me yourself," Arjuna pleaded. And more than that, Arjuna pleaded, "I have no use for what is preyas. What I need is what is śreyas." From that day on, Arjuna's hope was that Kṛṣṇa Paramātma would stand in the place of the guru and he himself in the place of the disciple.
▸Gītā Vāhini· Ordinary Moha and Extraordinary Moha
In plain words
In this the devotee is shown as independent and the Paramātma as dependent. The Bhakti of Sūradās bears witness to it. “Kṛṣṇa! You managed to slip out of my hands, but come, let us see You get away from my heart!” he thundered. At those words the Paramātma gave in and, with dignity, accepted it: “Child! I am dependent on the devotee.” See: in this the devotee can hold God bound fast. But one must be that overwhelmed by Bhakti, must one not? Then the Paramātma regards the devotee’s good and bad wholly as His own, and bestows His grace. Here He proved true the word of the Lord, the vow made in the Gītā: “I carry their yoga and kṣema.” Then the third, “tvamevāham iti tridhā”: undivided Bhakti, “You alone are I”. What gain is there in offering everything in this and keeping back only oneself? Done that way, it would be dvaita Śaraṇāgati. But this is “advaita Śaraṇāgati”. Such Śaraṇāgati has reached the feeling “Vāsudeva is all”. As long as there is abhimāna for the body, the devotee is the servant and God the master. As long as he identifies himself as the jīva, the devotee is a part and God the whole. When he leaves his abhimāna for the upādhis and abides in the state of his svarūpa, the devotee and God both become one. In the Rāmāyaṇa, Hanumān attained all three of these avasthās and states with Rāma. The Lord stated this same matter in this Gītā, in the seventh śloka of the second chapter, as the anubandha-catuṣṭaya. “Prapannaṃ” is the mark of adhikāra. How so? Arjuna took refuge after recognising his own fault by himself. When a man recognises his own fault, he becomes worthy of the place of adhikāra. More than that, he becomes one who has woken from tamo-guṇa. Eating and sleeping are the mark of tamo-guṇa. But because Arjuna had risen above that and reached the state of keeping watch over the antaḥkaraṇas, he was able to see his own fault clearly. Kṛṣṇa Paramātma perceived this state and, smiling, said, “Brother-in-law! Sleep is the very sign of tamo-guṇa, is it not? So what can this sleep of moha do to one who has conquered sleep itself? Its hold is only for a while. That is why you have come back to yourself so soon. You have been able to see your own fault. You have attained Śaraṇāgati in Me. Brother-in-law! Couldn’t you have done this weeping at home?” From then on Kṛṣṇa Paramātma, as guru, shaped Arjuna as a disciple.
