By which qualities, one by one, are you so set apart that all this is strung upon you? That is what is said next —

'I am the essence' — think of water: what makes water water, at its very core, is its taste. That taste is where I am — every drop of water is strung on that one thread. And it's the same everywhere. Just as I am the taste inside water, I am the light inside the moon and the sun. I am the sacred syllable Om at the heart of every Veda — every Veda is strung on that one sound. I am the sound that is space's own essence — space itself is strung on that. And I am the very quality of manhood in a man, the thing that makes someone recognize 'this is a man' — every man is strung on that quality, the way beads are strung on a single, unbroken thread.

By which and which attribute you, being thus distinguished, have all this strung upon you — this is what is said:

'I am essence' — the essence of waters is that which is their core quality, that is taste; in that, which is the taste, in me, the waters are woven [like thread on a string]; that is the meaning. In this way, everywhere [the same pattern applies]. Just as I am taste in the waters, so I am the radiance of the moon and sun. The syllable Om, the sound Om, is in all the Vedas; in that, which is the syllable Om, in me, all the Vedas are woven. Likewise, in space, in the ether, sound is the essence; in that, in me, space is woven. Likewise, manhood is the state of a man, manhood, by which the recognition of manhood [arises] with regard to men; in that, in me, men are woven.

Gītā Vāhini· Prabodha 12 · Passage 5

In plain words

He fills all the things of the world and the five elements, yet He is not outwardly seen; He dwells in all things as the indweller. That is why Kṛṣṇa Paramātma declared, “In water I am present as the svarūpa of taste, in the sun, the moon and the rest as radiance, in the Veda as Praṇava, in ākāśa as sound, in human beings as power and valour.” Let us inquire here into Praṇava. He said that Praṇava is the life of the Vedas, did He not! It is well known that the Vedas are beginningless. If Praṇava is the life-breath of the beginningless Vedas, then the wise can well consider how important that sacred Praṇava must be to creation. One must regard the subtle svarūpa of every thing as Praṇava itself.

Gītā Vāhini· Prabodha 12 · Passage 9

Yet there is one sacred trait in the snake. What is it? When the snake-charmer's pipe is played, any venomous serpent whatever spreads its hood and dances joyfully to it, merging its whole being in that tune. In the same way, in man, the Manas can be merged in Praṇava through ‘abhyāsa’. So the upāsanā of sound is the principal path to attaining Paramātma. Sound itself is Paramātma. That is why Paramātma declared, “I Myself am the power of puruṣārtha in man.” Puruṣakāra is the very life-breath of man. If that puruṣakāra has no life-breath in it, there is no humanity at all. Whatever the prārabdha, it must bow down and submit to puruṣakāra. Puruṣakāra stands ahead of prārabdha. Not knowing this, crying ‘prārabdha, prārabdha’, they cling to prārabdha and flounder — foolish men! Every human being must follow puruṣakāra without fail. If he does not act, such a one cannot live in the world even for half a minute. Paramātma created man to follow puruṣārtha in this world and to become blessed through its power. He did not send you to enjoy pleasures idly, a waste of food and a burden to the earth, with meaningless doings and bestial desires. He did not send you to be a lazybones, never bending your back to work and toil, building up your muscles, smacking your lips and growing stout and fat.
