In plain words

This is what I am: the supreme Lord, whose nature is eternally pure, awake and free; the Self of every being; untouched by any attribute; the very cause by which the seed of saṃsāra's defects is burnt to ash. And the world does not recognize Me. In saying so, the Blessed Lord is showing His tenderness for them. And what accounts for that failure? It is the world's own ignorance — which is what is said next.

Because of these three strands — states made entirely of the guṇas, playing out as attachment, aversion, delusion, and everything like them — this whole world of living beings is thrown into confusion, unable to tell one thing clearly from another. And so it fails to recognize me at all — me, who stand entirely apart from these guṇas, utterly different from them in kind, imperishable, untouched by decay, free from every change that birth sets in motion. That's what the verse means.

Being even such — the supreme Lord, whose very nature is eternally pure, awake and free, the Self of all beings, without attributes, the cause of the burning up of the seed of the defects of saṃsāra — Me the world does not recognize: thus the Blessed Lord shows His compassion. And that — occasioned by what? It is said to be the ignorance of the world —

By these three, consisting of the guṇas, modifications of the guṇas, in the forms of attachment, aversion, delusion, and so on, states, entities, by these, as described — this whole class of living beings, this world, being deluded, brought into the state of non-discrimination, does not recognize me, who am beyond, distinct from, of a different character from, these described guṇas, and imperishable, devoid of decay, devoid of every modification of state beginning with birth. That is the meaning.
