In plain words

Seeing how frightened Arjuna had become, Kṛṣṇa let the universal form fold back in, and, speaking gently to comfort him, the Blessed Lord said —

It was I, in my own graciousness — grace simply means a heart turned toward you in favor — it was I, out of that very grace, who showed you this supreme form, this universal form, Arjuna, through nothing but my own power, the sheer capability of my own sovereign Self. Blazing with light, made of splendor, holding this entire universe within it, without end, without limit, existing since before time began — this form of mine has never been seen by anyone but you. No one else. Not ever.

Close to the Sanskrit

Having perceived Arjuna to be frightened, having withdrawn the universal form, comforting [him] with affectionate words, the Blessed Lord said —

By me, gracious — grace means an attitude of favor toward you — possessing that, being gracious, by me was this supreme form, the universal form, shown to you, O Arjuna, out of [my] own yogic power, out of the capability of the Self's own sovereignty. Full of splendor, abounding in radiance, universal, entire, endless, without limit, existing from the beginning, primeval — which form of mine has not been seen before by anyone other than you, apart from you, by anyone at all.
