Bhagavadgītābhāṣyam· bhāṣya

In plain words

'I'm rich' -- wealthy, in money. 'I come from a fine family' -- seven generations deep in learned, ritually accomplished ancestors. And still, even with all that, there's no one my equal. Who else is there, anywhere, who resembles me, who matches me? And more: 'I'll perform sacrifices grand enough to outshine everyone else. I'll hand out gifts to entertainers and hangers-on. I'll take my pleasure, and feel a joy beyond anyone's.' That is the voice of people blinded by their own ignorance -- deluded by not knowing -- fallen into every kind of confusion about what actually matters.

Close to the Sanskrit

'Rich' -- with wealth; 'well-born' -- endowed with seven generations of learned-ancestry status; even with that, there is no one equal to me. What other is there resembling, equal, to me? Moreover, I shall sacrifice, and even by that sacrifice I shall surpass others; I shall give to actors and the like; I shall rejoice, and attain excessive delight -- thus, deluded by ignorance -- deluded by ignorance -- fallen into manifold states of non-discrimination.
