To feel that God is somewhere apart from oneself is parokṣa Jñāna. To feel that the all-pervading Paramātma is within me, as the Ātma-svarūpa, is aparokṣa Jñāna. He declared that for those who have done all their karmas as directed to God, ‘citta-śuddhi’ arises. He told him to know that God's births and karmas are divine. Yet only the great souls recognise these divine karmas and births; it is not possible for everyone. Even so, one must not give up the effort at that point. As far as possible, one must see to it that no lapse in effort comes. That is why, in the tenth śloka of this chapter, He set out the marks of adhikāra.
