In this varṇa system the Paramātma has shown no partiality whatever. There is no such trait in Him at all. Some think: why should even God have this distinction? In Him there is not a trace of distinction. God is cool and sweet, like a lump of sugar. All distinctions and sufferings are the fabrications of jīvas who have the anātma outlook, not the fabrications of God. Let us consider one matter as an example. A mother has four children. All four are born from the one mother's womb! But that mother does not look after the other children as she looks after the well-being of the baby laid in the cradle. Moreover, even if the little one does not call, the mother herself keeps attending to proper feeding at each due time. The other three children she feeds only when they come and ask. She gives them toys. Merely because of that, one cannot say either that the mother has a partial attitude or that all her Prema is on the youngest child, can one? Just as a mother conducts herself according to her children's strength and capacity and their circumstances, so, though the whole world is His own and all are His offspring, God has appointed to each a particular responsibility of protection according to each one's strength and capacity. To lay blame on such a One, selfless, faultless and unostentatious, the One who is eternal Ānanda, is like searching for darkness in the sun. The moment its rays fall, darkness is shattered to pieces. That being so, can darkness then stay in it? What ignorance this is! Such people may be called those who do not know even what the sun is.
