Passage 6

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

“Śraddhā means śraddhā in the śāstras, in the gurus, in the gaining of Jñāna; and not only this: what surpasses all these, śraddhā in yourself, for your own sake, must be foremost. Without śraddhā, man cannot accomplish even the smallest task. Consider, then, how essential śraddhā is for Jñāna, which is so holy and is the very support of life. This thing called śraddhā is no ordinary thing. Śraddhā is like an iron safe that keeps safe the holy treasures of śama, dama, uparati, titikṣā and samādhāna.”
