In just the same way Parabrahman, with no impairment to His own svarūpa, shines forth through Māyā as the world of manifold names and forms. However many ways the rope may appear, be imagined or be mistaken, it never becomes anything but a rope; so too, however many ways one may think of God, imagine Him or mistake Him, He is nothing other than “Brahman”. Paramātma is the support of all. Without His support the world cannot stand. As the thread is the support of a garland of flowers, and as much as the foundation is the support of a many-storeyed mansion that has been built, just as much is Paramātma too the support of the flowers that are the jīvas and of the mansion of Prakṛti. But it is the flowers of the garland and the built mansion of many storeys that are seen first; the thread in the garland and the foundation in the earth are not seen first. Merely because they are not seen, one must not say they do not exist. Without their very support there would be no garland of flowers, and no many-storeyed building either.
