In plain words

In the world, ordinary men do not come to the resolve that they should seek refuge in God and conquer Māyā. That depends on the good and evil deeds of each one's previous births. The evil-doers, wholly given over to the craving for enjoyment, keep scrambling after momentary pleasure. Like beasts, birds and animals, they eat and roam about, making merry with passing pleasures. Thinking that this is the very goal of life, with no thought of God at all, loathing the very mention of satsaṅga and unable to bear the mention of good conduct, they sink into utter ruin.
