Passage 4

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

“Because man is attached to sense objects, he readily offers his Manas even to sense objects full of poison; but when he must make that offering to the Lord of the universe, he is as distressed as if, who knows, a mountain had broken off and fallen on him. Crossing over: do they take it for greens in the bazaar, I wonder! They want to cross over just that easily. Their yearning is little; their tamas is much. Yet they hope for the resulting attainment in plenty.”
