In plain words
When I reached Kurukṣetra, wherever you looked, there they were, these (sannyāsis)! Nothing but wearers of ochre robes: more than 3 lakh people had gathered. I felt a certain measure of Ānanda. Along with the Ānanda came an eagerness, too, to give them the instructions they needed.
When we think of Bhārata, the Himālaya comes to mind, and the Gaṅgā that springs from it. The principle of the Himavat is none other than Satya, Dharma, Śānti and Ahiṃsā. The pure flowing stream of the Gaṅgā is itself the principle of Prema. I gave them courage, telling them that however long the attempts go on, and in however many ways, to destroy this unmoving Himavat mountain and this pure principle of the Gaṅgā through politics, they will not succeed. I warned them that to keep the bitter brew inside and put on the ochre robe outside is of no use whatever.
Later, one day, I went to the city of Meerut in the state of Uttar Pradesh. There too, though I went without telling anyone and without putting it in the papers, lakhs of people sat on either side, like a crore of ants on every branch of the trees all around, as the saying goes.
