In plain words
For their sayings, disregard!
Christ is not for the people of the Christian faith alone, nor for Westerners alone; He is worthy of honour to mankind itself, its guide. Rāma and Kṛṣṇa only for Hindus, only for the people of Bhārata, Christ only for Christians: all such petty notions are nothing but the opinions of the mean-minded; they can never be the feelings of the broad-minded.
The body and the country
A body is made up of limbs with many forms and names, with many powers and capacities; in the same way, all the many countries together make one universe. What the body is to the one who dwells in it, the universe itself is to God: His own body! Hands, feet, eyes, ears, head, belly: only when all of them work together is there a living body. Through all the limbs a divine grace keeps flowing as the power within. Only by its strength do the mind, the intellect and the senses, all of these, carry out their karmas. The grace of the Ātma alone is the support of life. When you hold to that and look, the oneness in all bodies comes into view. If you look at names and forms, at limb after limb, difference appears; even so, the first place must be given to this principle of the Ātma within, and to it alone. With country after country, too, it is just the same.
When differences of every kind spring up among the members of a family and hatred and envy blaze up, that family's property is squandered, falls into other hands and is lost.
