In plain words
But today we keep saying ‘Bhakti, Bhakti, Bhakti’ and nothing more; not understanding what Bhakti is, we waste our time uttering the word Bhakti. True Bhakti today is this: whether hardship comes or happiness comes, we must stand ready for the oneness that says, ‘Everything is for my good; every single thing is nothing but God's gracious gift.’ No matter what we do, the fruit will accord only with our karma. If you do full time work in an office, they give full pay. But if you do half time work, they give half pay. Today there is no full time devotion. It is part time devotion. What you do is part time; what you ask for is full time. How can it be given? So if we give a little of this and that and want the full pay of grace, He will not give it. You, with your whole heart and fully: ‘You are the dweller in my heart; by Your principle alone this life goes on. It keeps moving. You are the dweller in my heart; You are the very form of my Ātma. You are my all’: when you offer yourself fully in this way, He will surely take full charge of you Himself. Of this there is no doubt at all. Give, and see. Experience it.
